The Midnight Hour's core duo is composed of Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (from a Tribe Called Quest fame).  This is their first stand alone project though the two artists had previously linked up working on score music for the Luke Cage show.

The album is stunning sonically and expertly fuses together jazz, R&B and Hip Hop to create really beautiful music.  It is both nostalgic and boundary pushing in it's execution.  Composed of a mix of R&B songs and jazzy instrumentals, and enlisting some serious talent (Cee-Lo, Luther Vandross, Raphael Saadiq, Bilal, Karolina and more) you can hear the talent, love and attention to detail that has been put into each composition.
